Mid North Coast Division of General Practice

The Mid North Coast (NSW) Division of General Practice supports GPs to provide quality health care. The Division strives to link GPs with other health providers and the community.

The Division is part of an Australia wide network and covers the area from Ulmarra in the north, Stuarts Point in the south and out to Dorrigo in the west.

Over 130 GPs and GP Registrars work in the area. The population of 130,000+ includes a higher than national average of Aboriginal people, over 65s and children. Tourism swells the local population as the Mid North Coast is a popular place to holiday.

Stepping on Program - Unique partnership to provide multidisciplinary approach to falls prevention

The Mid North Coast (NSW) Division of General Practice has entered into a unique partnership with NSW Health, North Coast Area Health Service (Population Health/Community and Allied Health to implement a program that delivers wholistic, client-centred, evidence based approach to prevention of falls, a major health issue for our rapidly ageing North Coast population.

Consultations for North Coast Area Health Service (NCAHS) Aged Care Services Plan 2010-2015

As many of you are aware, the NCAHS has recently commenced a planning process for the development of an Area wide Plan for the delivery of services to the Aged population of the North Coast. As part of the planning process the Planning and Performance Unit will be running a series of consultation workshops across the Area. Consultations have been organised in Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Lismore, and Tweed Heads.
