Medical Students

Mid North Coast region offers an unforgettable tourism experience from beautiful beaches to abundant rainforests, tranquil islands and undulating hinterland. Visitors have the opportunity to view whales and dolphins in their natural habitat.

Medical students are also very much in focus in the Mid North Coast, the Division has always supported  strong links with the UNSW Rural Clinical School since its inception in 2000. Prior to building of the purpose built accommodation for students, the Division was able to share accommodation and resources . While this is no longer needed the support and involvement of many of our GP’s in their training, allow the division to look at different models of care for patients and involve students in these models while training. Access is provided to Division sponsored specialty clinics as well as encouragement to work within the Division on projects that affect the Community such as smoking cessation and chronic disease management .
The future of health care relies on vertical and horizontal links in Health and Education and the Division proudly supports any measures that build the workforce capacity .
